How To Make Classic Chicken Salad

I could eat chicken salad forever and never grow tired of it. Chicken salad is a versatile dish that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways: either as a sandwich, wrap, or eaten plain. It is classic, tasty, and filled with protein. This chicken salad recipe is the greatest of the several that I’ve tried.

No one does a better job of updating classic recipes than Southern Living, the folks responsible for creating this one. In all likelihood, I would say no. Feel free to use whatever leftover chicken you have for this tasty recipe. If you happen to have some fresh chicken breasts on hand, feel free to use them instead.

Ingredients:
2 cups of cooked, shredded or diced chicken (rotisserie chicken works well)
1/2 cup of mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a healthier option)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 cup of celery, finely chopped
1/4 cup of red onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional add-ins: grapes, almonds, or fresh herbs (like parsley or dill)
