The trick to compensate

Each dish has its own trick to remedy excess salt. In the case of soups, you can remedy and rebalance the flavors by adding water and letting it simmer for several minutes, without overdoing it. The amount of water must be just right. Too much water could alter the flavor of the soup.

If the dish is too salty (it is  a stew) , dairy products can balance the overly salty flavor. The same goes for parsley, spinach, but also cilantro and green vegetables. For stews, but also for soups, potatoes and carrots can  absorb excess salt , balancing the flavors. The potato and carrot pieces can be removed once the dish is cooked.

However, a pinch of sugar is enough to balance the excess salt. This remedy applies to sauces, but also to soups.

If the dish is too salty, simply drain the rice and replace the cooking water with less salty water. The excess salt will therefore be diluted. This also applies to pasta and boiled foods.

In the case of a preparation that is too salty, the kind that can leave a bad taste in your mouth, the trick is to cook a second preparation without salt , which will be added to the first dish. This is the case of pancake batter, mayonnaise, etc.
