Old-fashioned goulash was a common ingredient in my home region of the Mid-West. It was something that my mom would make all the time, and it was a tradition that she would pass down to her children. This dish is one of those that keeps getting made, and it has been a part of my family for a long time.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 large Yellow onion, diced
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 T Italian seasoning
  • 1 T Adobo Seasoning
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 T seasoned salt
  • 1/2 T black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
