This is the case, for example, with  bread  . Putting it in the  refrigerator  may seem like a good idea if you plan to  keep it  for several  days  , but the reality is that it changes the  flavor  and  texture  . Keeping it in the  refrigerator  speeds up the  maturation of the bread, which  dries  sooner and appears more “  rubbery  ”.
