Don’t throw away used tea bags: they clean the toilet in no time

To avoid breaking the household budget, here are some effective, simple and inexpensive ways to clean dirty toilets.
  • Mix half a glass of white vinegar with three tablespoons of baking soda. These two products are renowned for their cleaning, whitening and deodorizing properties. As a bonus, this duo is ideal for eliminating tartar and lime deposits. To neutralize the slightly strong smell of vinegar, do not hesitate to add a few drops of scented essential oil to the mixture. Then pour the solution into an atomizer bottle and spray the inside of the toilet. Leave it on for about 30 minutes. Then scrub everything thoroughly and rinse.
  • Don’t have any white vinegar on hand? No problem: baking soda can do the trick in combination with citric acid, a product just as effective for removing dirt in the toilet. Mix 1/3 cup of baking soda with two tablespoons of citric acid. Pour everything into the toilet bowl. Leave it on for an hour, before scrubbing the area with a brush. This way, your toilet will be clean and pleasantly scented.
  • For its part, hydrogen peroxide is also a formidable weapon against yellowish stains and sediment accumulated in toilets. You probably already have some in your medicine cabinet, since it is frequently used to treat nasty wounds. Pour this cleaning agent into an atomizer and generously spray the toilet (inside and outside). After waiting 20 minutes, flush the toilet. All you have to do is wipe the board and lid with a paper towel. Shine guaranteed!
